Overview

The Pharmaceutical industry is utilizing a plethora of novel approaches, techniques and technologies for Drug Design and Discovery. Use of novel interdisciplinary approaches, developed by understanding integrated biological systems and processes at the functional and molecular levels, has made the discovery process more rational, but complex too. Therefore for optimizing the discovery and development of new molecular entities it is a current practice to follow collaborative research amongst interdisciplinary academic/research centers, government agencies and pharmaceutical industry.


With Dr. Rathnam Chatgutru, (Senior Director, SRI International, USA) serving as Chairperson, Drug Discovery India 2013, will provide an unprecedented opportunity to explore the contract research and collaborative options amongst various research fraternities. Planned open panel discussions and break-out sessions on key thematic areas are sure to energize the participants in defining the drug discovery landscape, especially in the Indian context, and offer ways and means to de-risk the patent cliff experienced by the pharmaceutical industry in recent years.
