Dr Jo O’Leary

Jo is Head of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy team at UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). Jo and her team work across UKRI on the development of UKRI’s EDI strategy and activities to foster a healthy and productive research and innovation system. This includes working in partnership across the research and innovation sector, including through the sector Forum for Tackling Bullying and Harassment. Jo is the Deputy Chair of this Forum.

Prior to this role, Jo was the lead for Stakeholder and Community Engagement on the UKRI Horizon Europe Guarantee programme and, previously, the Head of Funding Delivery and Peer Review for the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council.

Jo completed her degree and PhD in Chemsitry at the University of Edinburgh before moving to the University of Oxford as a post-doctoral researcher and then a research facilitator.
