James founded the company from own funds in January 2012, and is still actively Involved in all operational aspects of the business from idea innovation, product selection, design, manufacturing partner sourcing, sales, e-commerce and finance.
The company grew from £0 to £1.5m in annual sales by the y/e 2015. Successfully launched Headbones on Kickstarter raising over $150,000 and delivering the final product to over 1000 satisfied backers.
Damson designs and develops high quality audio products including Bone Conduction headphones which can aid those participating in sports activities such as cycling or running continue to listen to both music and their surroundings. Bone Conduction does not use your ear canal which allows your ears to continue to hear sounds around you, keeping you safe, at the same time as allowing you to be motivated by your music or take/make calls.
Damson Headbones also enable people with certain hearing impairments (including Microtia, Anotia and tinnitus) to hear stereo sounds by transmitting the sounds directly to the inner ear.
