Prof Mike Barrett

Mike Barrett is Professor of Parasitology at the University of Glasgow. He also directs Glasgow Polyomics a facility dedicated to the acquisition and analysis of data in genomics, metabolomics and proteomics. His research program has focused on understanding how drugs work against protozoa and how resistance to drugs emerges. In recent years the application of metabolomics based technology, complemented by genomics approaches has underpinned understanding how several drugs act against a variety of microbial organisms and how resistance to these drugs emerges.
