Profile of Prof Jill Ley
Jill Ley received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University in 1981, and a Master of Science in Physiological Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco in 1987. Jill has been a clinical faculty member at UCSF since 1991 and achieved full Clinical Professor status in 2009. Jill has been a Clinical Nurse Specialist at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco since 1987. Her research interests, presentations, and numerous publications have addressed fluid resuscitation, VADs, optimal chest tube removal strategies and since 2009 she has partnered with European colleagues to implement CALS resuscitation standards in the US. During the last 4 years she has been working to reduce the problem of alarm fatigue in her hospital as well as the Sutter Healthcare System in Northern California.
