Andrew Dewing

Andy Dewing has been designing and managing the implementation of data centre spaces worldwide for 17 years. His work has included projects ranging from 500m2 of custom built space to 45,000m2 colocation sites. A Fellow of the IET with an MSc in Climate Change and Sustainability from De Montfort University he has worked extensively in energy efficiency assessments of data centre operations, projects and products. This has enabled him to apply the latest strategies in energy efficiency within data centres and to critically review the many and varied solutions that are available. His specialities include: data centre implementation strategy, mechanical and electrical engineering, specification and development of data centre requirements for tendering and construction, energy management techniques, application of reliability analysis and CFD, technical support and project management. Andy is a committed design 'minimalist' with the mantra that 'simple is beautiful' especially when it comes to data centres.
