Profile of Lutz S Goehring
Lutz completed a residency in Equine Medicine at the Marion DuPont Scott Equine Medical Center in Virginia from 1995 to 1998. He then combined a clinical instructor position/PhD. position at Utrecht University, with his PhD titled, ‘Aspects of Epidemiology and Pathology of EHV-associated Myeloencephalopathy.’ Lutz then was appointed an Assistant/Associate Professor at Colorado State University in a clinical position with emphasis on infectious diseases and equine neurology, research activity: pathogenesis of EHM. He is now Head of Equine Medicine and Reproduction at Ludwig-Maximilian University, in Munich, Germany, where he continues research in EHM pathogenesis, latency and neurodegenerative disease.
