His focus is providing structured debt to businesses in the sector, and transactions include those to Retail and Wholesale Co-location Data Centre Operators as well as Managed Service Providers. John’s portfolio includes a number of UK based privately owned data centre operators. Data centres are still viewed by many lending institutions as a specialised and complex asset class, the intricacies of which may not always be fully appreciated. Lombard’s success to date has been due to a deep understanding of these assets and an acceptance of performance risks associated with data centre construction and operation. This has led to Lombard being recognised as one of the leading debt players in the UK data centre space
