Profile of Takaaki Iwai
Takaaki Iwai is studying MA (Honours) Mathematics and Russian at the University of St Andrews, and Professional Development Award in Data Science at Edinburgh College. During his studies at St Andrews, he was a Research Intern at the School of Classics, working with Dr Sian Lewis on a project to infer ancient Greek nature through various historical materials from the Russophone world.
His research interests and expertise lie in the interaction of Russian art and music in the end of 19th century and early 20th century, history of mathematics in Russian and Soviet fishery science, and the use of poetry by Russian mathematicians in early 20th century.
