Profile of Mr Chris Danks

Chris joined the KTN Agrifood Team following almost eight years as CEO of Forsite Diagnostics Ltd, and latterly CTO of Abingdon Health Group, following its acquisition of Forsite in 2014. Forsite Diagnostics was a spin out company, led by Chris culminating twelve years research as part of the Plant Health team at Food and Environment Research Agency (an executive agency of Defra), pioneering the use of field test kits for the detection of plant pathogens. The ‘Pocket Diagnostics’ range, which were launched in 2000 are still commercially available worldwide.
Chris is passionate about innovation and translational science and has been an active member of consortia in over thirty EU, Innovate UK and other funded projects. Over the last seven years he has also had a role as Director and is currently Chair of the Board at Science City York, which has enabled him to be at the heart of bioscience innovation and business support in the York region, through active networking and organisation of stimulating events.
