Discussion
This paper presents findings from the interdisciplinary KonKoop Trauma Study. The panel survey at the heart of this study (2024-25) traces the prevalence of trauma and the effects of trauma on Ukrainian society. It speaks to the hypothesis that the high prevalence of PTSD and complex PTSD among ordinary citizens in Ukraine, incl. displaced individuals and individuals with direct military experience, shapes or moderates attitudes and behaviour. This study is among the first to systematically study both the clinical prevalence of different types of trauma and their potential link to political attitudes and trust patterns.
