Discussion
This paper explores the role of visual diaries in documenting the personal experiences of individuals living through conflict. These visual diaries function as both artistic expressions and personal testimonies, blending subjective experience with factual documentation. The essay focuses specifically on the visual diaries of Julia Tveritina and Antonina Semenova, both of which are marked by the hybridity of their formats, existing both as printed books and as active pages on social media. The paper addresses the following questions : How do the visual and textual elements interact in these war testimonies? What role does digital media play in mediating and amplifying the testimonies? How do personal and collective narratives converge within these works to shape broader understandings of war? By analyzing their transmediality and content, the study highlights the significance of visual storytelling in creating emotional records of war and the impact of new media and the war documentation
