Discussion

This will be a discussion of The New Cambridge History of Russian Literature, a volume of 922 pages, involving 34 international contributors. This landmark book replaces the previous edition of The Cambridge History of Russian Literature, edited by Charles Moser (1989). It aims to offer a new model of writing literary history. We will have participants who address the usefulness of this model, reflecting on the contribution of the volume to research and pedagogy. We will also consider issues relating to present-day discussion of literary history in the light of decolonisation and other issues.
