This presentation will first offer a brief overview of Reading the Archival Revolution (Stanford UP, November 2024) a book which identifies and tackles key challenges of reading the archival revolution that followed the fall of the Iron Curtain. Further, this presentation will invite the audience to reflect on our methodological approaches to long-standing challenges such as archival access and excess, silences, fictions, multilingualism and translation, multimedia, and digital remediation.
