The Open Access (OA) movement has been growing for more than ten years, with researchers needing to navigate a shifting landscape where the pace of change varies between countries and regions.
What is driving Open Access, how is OA funding allocated, and what questions should researchers be asking their funders and institutions?
This roundtable will examine what OA means for you as an author and consider where along the path different countries and regions currently stand in their OA journeys. The session will cover the facts you need to help you make informed choices about OA options, explore assumptions that may be held about OA, and understand what you need to do to publish OA if your institution has Read & Publish (R&P) agreements in place with publishers. We will also reflect on questions and resources to help authors establish whether a publishing venue is predatory, vanity publishing, or legitimate.
Journal Editors will also share their experiences of OA, and there will be time for discussion and Q&A from the floor.
