The International Council for Central and East European Studies claims the importance of understanding how regional processes interact with global dynamics. That entirely correlates with our vision and approach towards dealing with environmental issues.
For effective planning and coordination of environmental protection actions on a regional scale, for the conservation and restoration of natural resources, new methods of comprehensive assessments of anthropogenic impacts on the natural environment, its sustainability and optimization are being developed and re-evaluated.
One of such methods is the sustainable environmental management system. In this system, the balance of consumption and restoration of natural resources, the ecological sustainability of territories are individually calculated for different regions. Modern digital methods make it possible to effectively calculate the dynamics of environmental and anthropogenic processes, make forecasts and develop plans for managing natural resources in the future. This method is applicable at the local and global scale.
