The series of performances and visual interventions of Adela Jušić (1982), a Sarajevo-born artist, explore the role of women in the National Liberation Struggle in Yugoslavia as well as the memory of this involvement in the postwar period. This paper revolves around Jušić's artistic strategies that contest the disruptures in memory politics, which used to depersonalize and reduce women to the figure(s) without any emancipatory agency.
