The very respectable leftist and communist "theaterrmaker" and musician E.F. Burian represents in the Czechoslovak art history an example of destructive and self-destructive power in the Czech theater after the WW II, especially during the Stallinist years His efforts were both disruptive and subversive for the development of Czech drama and theater and this duality we could see as a paradoxical way out of socialist realism. He as communist and survival of Nazi concentration camps developed active Stallinist position after the WW II, but this choice destroyed his artistic abilities and avant-grade power as an artist.
