This paper explores the establishment and development of the first German Studies Institute in Azerbaijan, highlighting its role in fostering cultural and academic exchange between Azerbaijan and German-speaking countries. In response to globalization's impact on academia, the Institute has embraced culture transfer research, tracing historical and modern connections between the Caucasus and Europe. Notably, collaborations such as the comparative study of The Nibelungenlied and Kitab Dede Korkut with the University of Mainz mark milestones in intercultural research (between 2009-2016). The Institute's partnerships, including with the University of Augsburg and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) over last three years, have held significant events, such as international symposia focused on German-Azerbaijani literary relations, migration, and sustainability. This abstract underscore the robust faculty collaborations, German Studies Institute's pivotal role in advancing cross-cultural understanding and academic cooperation, positioning Azerbaijan as a vital bridge between Europe and Asia in Germanic studies. This abstract examines the disruptive impact of globalization on cultural and academic exchanges between Azerbaijan and German-speaking countries, focusing on the dynamic relationships and themes emerging from the establishment of the first German Studies Institute in Azerbaijan.
