Each war has its unique trama and its unique narrative, that is uncomparable with any other traumas of any other war. The uniqness of the war testimony With the beginning of the Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Ukrainian literature has changes its focus to the documentation of war in Ukrainian history. Literature has started to serve as a tool of testimony of war crimes, changes of cultural values in society, and to conduct the moment of collective trauma, debunking of society’s stereotypes. Particularly the voices of Ukrainian female writers in that circumstances became not only the messengers of the war atrocities, but also the sources of archiving the memories for the future. However, numbers of women-writers have changed their social role and became soldiers who are actively defending the country, they are active publishing new works as Yaryna Chornohus, Olena Herasymiuk, and others. On the other hand, the impact of the female war narrative in Ukraine is changing stereotypes about women in culture and is presenting a new way of archiving the history of the war, the resiliance of Ukrainian culture in general.
This papers aims to analyse the peculiarities of the female witnessing of war, war trauma and war atrocities. This analysis will trace the changes that female voices have started in the society as well as their contribution to the development of new testimony of war in Ukrainian culture.
