Discussion
This paper reveals what the EU means for Hungarians in 2023, what they consider to be the most important advantages and disadvantages of EU membership, and how they assess the economic impact of EU membership. In particular, we focus on how Hungarian voters perceive current trends in the European Union and what changes they would like to see in the EU's priorities.
We will also examine in which public policy areas the Hungarians would like to give powers to the EU, and in which issues they would prefer to have only national powers. We also show what Hungarian voters think EU funds should be spent on, and what they think about EU enlargement. The policy positions of government and opposition parties will be contrasted with these survey results.
