This roundtable reconsiders arguments made at BASEES two years ago about Russia being viewed as possessing a messianic mission to change international politics. In light of the full-scale war launched on Ukraine in February 2022, have perceptions of Russia wshifted, in particular, has it reestablished its imperial thrust and sought to appropriate an expansionist agenda as its mission? Or has little changed in its international behaviour?
