The rise of digital technologies has led to a demand for specialists who can work with big data to facilitate management decision-making. After Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, many IT specialists migrated from Russia abroad and faced new challenges in the labour market. This study focuses on the data analyst profession, aiming to uncover the skills structure required for this role. The authors used a Python program to analyse job vacancies from a recruitment website and applied social network analysis to identify skill clusters. The study reveals that the data analyst profession primarily requires hard skills in Russia, emphasising technical expertise for data collection and processing. Whereas in the USA, soft skills are crucial too. These findings hold potential value in shaping Higher Education curricula for students, specialising in data analytics.
