The presentation will describe two main projects of Polish ethnolinguistic lexicography: the Dictionary of Folk Stereotypes and Symbols and the Axiological Lexicon of the Slavs and Their Neighbors. The goals of both dictionaries, the methods for defining concepts, and the epistemological origins of both projects will be presented and analysed. The author and initiator of both projects was Professor Jerzy Bartmiński of the Marie Curie-Skłodowska University of Lublin, who died in 2022. I dedicate my presentation to his memory.
