The paper aims to analyze the historical narrative of Croatian nation and state during the jubilee of ‘the thirteen centuries of Christianity among the Croats’ created mainly by the clergy and  Christian intellectuals. It was a nine-year celebration. Between 1975 and 1984 a number of events were organized to celebrate the jubilee (the Jelena’s year or the Branimir’s year). The culmination of it was the National Eucharistic Congress held in Marija Bistrica. Data from the Croatian State Archives (Hrvatski Državni Arhiv), the National and University Library in Zagreb (Nacionalna i sveučilišna knjižnica u Zagrebu), as well as in the archive of the magazine Glas Koncila have been already examined. The content analysis and discourse analysis were used. The archival materials reveal interesting insight regarding the Croatian narrative of the nation’s and state’s origins.
