Abstract

The current drive for more automation in R&D laboratories across the globe has led us to investigate how with low cost automation solutions one could lower the bar for the entry to the field. And at the same time to reduce the risk of wasting money in case solutions don’t perform as expected. In the presentation we will showcase a custom automation solution that allowed us to reduce the cost in 10-fold and at the same time pave the way to future cost-effective automated workflows.We demonstrate how through investigating and understanding the needs of a team tailored solutions can be beneficial over systems that are built according to user specifications at a vendor. We will also show other similar solutions within our company and where we expect the field to go in the future.
