Abstract

For years, High Content Analysis has been a crucial tool to screen candidates from large compound libraries in drug discovery. Yet, shortcomings in HCA technology have historically kept this funnel extended to a 10 to 15 years long process due to long screening times or randomized sub sampling of wells. Recent discoveries in optical innovation led Araceli Biosciences to take a new approach to High Content and develop a platform capable of screening 96, 384, and 1536 well plates in less than 10 minutes per plate. Further, this approach encompasses full well screening to ensure every cell is imaged and analyzed without extending screening time, a specifically advantageous tool for drug discovery labs looking for rare events in phenotypic screening. To further accelerate the drug discovery stage, HCA is coupled with robotic automation to obtain results at high throughput and allow any High Content facility to function 24 hrs a day. As the urgency for new therapeutic treatments increases, the drug discovery industry must find alternatives to historical bottle-necks in research and increase throughput, while ensuring all available data is collected from compound libraries, as discovery is in the details
