Shortly before and after the decriminalization of homosexuality in Russia occurred in 1993, LGBT people actively produced journals and newspapers dedicated to practical issues, such as LGBT rights, the spread of AIDS, homosexual intimacy. Most of the titles had not been officially registered and were circulated among the community in small print in many Russian cities apart from Moscow and St Petersburg (Barnaul, Ekaterinburg, Nizhny Tagil). Looking at this unique source, I will offer a new view on LGBT agenda during the turbulent but still insufficiently researched period of the early 1990s.
