The paper examines the dynamic of the image of a female scientist in post-war Soviet films as a valid indicator of the ideological trends of the day. An attempt is made to define a spectrum of persistent and variable (context related) characteristics of this ideologically constructed mythologeme; and to compare the latter with its counterpart – the image of a male scholar. Such an examination is carried out against the background of gender policies followed in the Soviet era.
