Peripheral nerves are highly quiescent, complex tissues that have remarkable regenerative capabilities, in that they can regain function even following a complete cut. In this talk, I will discuss our findings on the cellular complexity of the regenerative process, how it can be modelled in vitro and in vivo and the implications of these findings for pathologies such as nerve injury, cancer and neuropathies.
