Alexandra Stowell

I have worked in Drug Discovery for the last 17 years with a particular expertise in biochemical assay development and enzymology. I started my career at CRUK-Therapeutic Discovery Laboratories (formerly Cancer Research Technology) in 2004 and moved to the Manchester CRUK Drug Discovery Unit in 2011 where I led the secondary screening and compound management team and early-stage biology on multiple projects. I started at Sygnature Discovery earlier this year, joining the growing presence at Alderley Park. I love the challenge of evaluating new targets and technologies and assessing potential liabilities and pitfalls that could compromise the success of a hit finding campaign. At Sygnature, we aim to build robust screening cascades to give every project the best chances of success in hit finding, using all the equipment, software tools and skillsets we have at our disposal, and I hope to illustrate this with some data from recent projects.
