Profile of Dr Tsypylma Darieva
PD Dr Tsypylma Darieva is a senior researcher and head of the research cluster ‘Migration and Diversity’ at the Centre for East European and International Studies (ZOiS). She is teaching anthropology and area studies (Central Eurasian studies) at Humboldt University Berlin, the Institute for Asian and African Studies. Her research interests include anthropology of migration, transnational diaspora, post-Soviet urban cultures, ethnic and religious diversity and civic activism in South Caucasus, Russia and Eurasia. She is co-editor of Religious Activism in Eastern Europe and Beyond in Religion, State and Society (2023); Sacred Places, Emerging Spaces. Religious Pluralism in the South Caucasus (Berghahn 2018, Urban Activism in Eastern Europe and Eurasia (DOM Publishers 2020) and currently she is preparing her monograph Making a Homeland. Roots and Routes of Transnational Armenian Engagement (Transcript, 2023) for publication.
