Profile of Dr Valentina Romeo
My interest focuses on nucleic acid therapeutics (that includes exploiting RNA/DNA molecules both as drugs and targets), gene and cell therapy. I am passionate about technology, assay development and studies on drugs MOA.
I am an experienced molecular and cellular biologist with good knowledge of biochemistry.
Trained as RNA biologist, I extensively studied RNA processing and its dysregulation in disease. In industrial settings, I dealt with diverse therapeutic modalities, including small molecule inhibitors, engineered antibodies and mRNA-based vaccines, in various fields from neuroscience to cancer immunology.
I am currently part of the Lead Discovery Team in Roche focusing on Small Molecule Therapeutics.
