Profile of Dr Stephanie Constantinou
Stephanie Constantinou trained as a biochemist at Imperial College London, where she continued to explore her passion for research by undertaking an MRes in Cancer Biology. She then moved to the lab of Professor Ashok Venkitaraman at the MRC Cancer Unit in Cambridge to pursue a PhD in the field of DNA damage and Repair. Following completion of her PhD studies she joined the Functional Genomics group in AstraZeneca, focussing on identifying and validating new drug targets using high-throughput screening with the aim of creating scientific hypotheses, de-risking these and delivering portfolio novelty. During her time in the company, Stephanie has built expertise in assay development and optimisation to execute robust phenotype-based screens for multiple oncology projects. The data packages she has delivered have contributed to three target selection investment decisions to date and informed on numerous target hypotheses within AstraZeneca.
