Juan M. Huerta

Juan M. Huerta is Vice President of Advanced Analytics at Citibank's Global Decision Management in New York. At Citi. Juan is responsible for leading various Big Data initiatives and projects related to multiple aspects of the business. In particular, his focus at Citi is to harness Citi's substantial data and computing resources to create scalable algorithmic solutions in the areas of fraud identification, consumer analytics (e.g., weblog analytics, acquisition, segmentation, marketing, predictive modelling, etc.), time-series and economic forecasting, and others. Prior to Citi, Juan spent 12 years as Research Scientist at IBM T J Watson Research Center where he focused on creating statistical and machine learning algorithms for automatic speech recognition, natural language understanding, and statistical machine translation. Juan holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He has participated in multiple DARPA sponsored projects, has authored over 50 technical papers and articles, has been a TEDX presenter, and holds 6 U.S. patents.
