AbstractSingle-cell cloning is a vital step to obtain pure clones from a single progenitor cell and is involved in diverse applications, including the field of cell and gene therapy. With the advancements in genome-editing technologies, it holds great potential to gain powerful insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying genetic diseases, allowing users to further advance in the field.
Here, we present an overview of iotaSciences’ cloning platform, which addresses critical bottlenecks in traditional single-cell cloning workflows.
The platform utilizes a novel type of cell culture format - GRIDs. Cells are automatically dispensed into the individual GRID chambers in sub-microliter volumes and cultivated therein. Optimal clarity permits reliable whole-chamber single-cell verification and subsequent clonal expansion with automated feeding and harvesting. iotaSciences’ cloning platform allows for efficient and complete automated workflow for single-cell cloning.
